“New Beginnings” invites writers and artists to explore change in its simplest form. It’s a place where endings, restarts, and in-between moments shape our lives and identities. Through written or visual work, explore how this creates moments of change, fresh starts, and connection. 

Submission Guidelines

General Guidelines 

The Grizz Lit Review accepts published and unpublished pieces of short story, poetry, creative nonfiction, and visual art. We simply ask to mention where your piece has also been featured.

Simultaneous submissions: We accept simultaneous submissions.  

All ages can submit 

We do not accept pieces containing explicit content, discriminatory messages, violence, academic essays, and plagiarism.

Rights remain with the author/artist upon publication. 

Submit Writing:

Short Story Guidelines

Applicants may only submit two short stories. 

Formatting: Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spaced 

Submit the file as .docx or .pdf

Poetry Guidelines

Applicants may submit up to three poems per submission.  

Formatting: Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spaced 

Submit the file as .docx or .pdf

Creative Nonfiction Guidelines

Applicants can only submit one creative nonfiction piece per submission.

Formatting: Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spaced

Submit Art:

Visual Art Guidelines

Any medium of art.

Applicants may submit up to two visual art pieces per submission. 

Submit the file as .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .pdf

Cover Art Guidelines

Any medium of art.

Applicants may submit up to two cover art pieces per submission. 

Submit the file as .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .pdf

*Cover art submissions should reflect the theme of respective issue.
